FAQs

What is Sisters Sports Group and what do you do?

Sisters Sports Group is a national movement dedicated to helping cities build thriving, locally led professional women’s sports networks. We take the passion fans already have for women’s professional sports—whether it’s the WNBA, women’s soccer, volleyball, or beyond—and turn it into lasting infrastructure and community momentum.

Women’s professional sports are finally experiencing the growth they deserve. McKinsey projects the market will grow 16% between 2024 and 2030, fueled by record-breaking viewership, soaring attendance, and skyrocketing team valuations

And yet, cities like Philadelphia have been left behind.

After feeling the absence of women’s professional sports in our own city, we recognized there are too few local pathways exist for communities to connect with the leagues they love. Sisters Sports Group is here to change that—mobilizing fans, building infrastructure, and driving a movement to ensure every city with the heart for women’s sports has the teams to match.

Through our proven framework, we mobilize local leaders, develop strong advisory boards, and forge strategic partnerships with leagues, sponsors, and municipalities. The goal is simple: make sure no one has to leave their city to experience the excitement, representation, and opportunity of women’s professional sports.

 About Sisters Sports Group

  • Unlike organizations that focus primarily on hosting events or promoting the game, we equip cities with the infrastructure, leadership, and partnerships they need to bring and sustain  women’s professional sports as part of their cultural and economic fabric. Every chapter we help launch is locally led, ensuring it reflects that city’s unique identity and community priorities, while still benefiting from our national network, proven framework, and league connections.

Our holistic, scalable model means that the energy we help create doesn’t fizzle out after a season—it builds, year after year, into a movement that’s both authentic and investment-worthy.

  • Sisters Sports Group operates as a national organization with local chapters, and while our work spans cities across the United States, our flagship chapter—Philadelphia “Philly” Sisters—is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Philadelphia is where the model was first developed and tested, proving that a city can go from limited women’s sports presence to hosting high-impact women’s  professional sports events, building strong community leadership, and establishing  connections with leagues like the WNBA. From this home base, we now work with cities nationwide to adapt the model to their unique sports cultures and community needs.

In short—we’ve got Philly roots, but our reach is national.

  • Philadelphia Sisters™ is the flagship city chapter of Sisters Sports Group and serves as the proof-of-concept for everything we do nationally.

Sisters Sports Group is the national organization—we create the framework, resources, and league relationships that help cities launch and sustain their own locally led women’s professional sports networks. Philadelphia Sisters™ was the very first to implement this model, showing how a city can go from lacking a  women’s sports presence to hosting large-scale women’s professional sporting events, such as Unrivaled’s Philly Game Night, building a strong local advisory board, advancing the interest of women’s professional sports leagues like the WNBA, and becoming a destination for fans and athletes.

What makes Sisters Spots Group especially powerful is its grassroots approach. The founding team built relationships with local leadership early on, starting with then–Councilwoman (now Mayor) Cherelle Parker, additional city council members, and Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf. These connections and the ability to navigate local government proved invaluable in accelerating Philadelphia’s journey toward becoming a hub for women’s professional sports. This experience now informs how Sisters Sports Group helps other organizations and cities elevate their game and bring professional women’s sports to their communities.

In short: Sisters Sports Group builds the blueprint, and Philadelphia Sisters™ is the living, thriving example of that blueprint in action—a model we now help replicate in other cities nationwide.

  • Yes. Sisters Sports Group exists to champion, sustain, invest in, and develop all professional women’s sports networks—and that includes women’s boxing and female combat sports.

Our mission isn’t limited to one league or one type of game. We believe every city deserves access to the full spectrum of women’s professional sports, from the WNBA and women’s soccer to volleyball, and other emerging leagues. That means we work to create the infrastructure, partnerships, and community leadership needed to support athletes, teams, and events in every discipline.

  • While our Philadelphia Sisters™' initial play began by making an impact in women’s basketball, this was just our first slam dunk.

At Sisters Sports Group, we prioritize female athletes and women’s professional sports of all kinds—from basketball and soccer to volleyball and additional emerging professional leagues. And our mission goes beyond supporting athletes; we’re focused on creating more opportunities for women at every level—players, coaches, executives, and fans. By promoting, sustaining, and investing in women’s sports year-round, we’re working to ensure every city has the infrastructure, resources, and community support it needs to thrive.

  • Corporate sponsorship through Sisters Sports Group offers brands a uniquely high-impact way to connect with one of the most loyal and engaged fan bases in sports—fans of women’s professional sports, and especially women’s basketball.

For many investors and brands, the women’s sports landscape can feel uncharted. There’s excitement around the growth, but less clarity on how to authentically connect with the communities driving it.

That’s where Sisters Sports Group comes in.

We help our partners navigate this rapidly growing market, helping them build authentic relationships with the amazing fans that fill the stands in women’s professional sports arenas. Through strategic guidance and community-rooted initiatives, we ensure investments aren’t just financial; they’re meaningful, impactful, and built to last.
